Charity Of The Month – Computer Aid

At GAP Talent, we believe in the power of people and technology to transform lives and communities, and we’re proud to support Computer Aid as our Charity of the Month for March 2024.

Since 1997, Computer Aid has worked tirelessly to bring access to technology to over 14.5 million people worldwide. In addition to financial support, the organization receives donations of computers, tablets, and mobile phones, which are then refurbished and used in projects in Africa and South America to help bridge the digital divide.

In South Africa, less than a third of low-income individuals have access to the internet, and the situation is even worse when it comes to the hardware required to connect. Computer Aid South Africa is addressing this challenge head-on, with remarkable initiatives such as Solar Learning Labs which are shipping containers repurposed into solar-powered internet classrooms accommodating up to 25 learners at a time.
