#GAPGivesBack – Door of Hope November 2023 Review

Through the #GAPGivesBack programme, GAP Talent is deeply committed to making a positive impact in our communities. By supporting the Door Of Hope Children’s Mission and the “Adopt-A-Crib” initiative in partnership with our Talent Partners, we’re helping to care for once abandoned children; providing a nurturing environment where they can develop and grow… and believe in a brighter future.

“We are thrilled that five children were adopted in November, and have moved onto their forever homes. Our staff were a little rattled though when two of our older children struggled to leave after being with us for almost four years. Older children have a very hard time adjusting to a new family, no matter how much we have prepared them. Our staff wept after the children left, but we were comforted knowing they had moved onto a future filled with hope.” – Door Of Hope Management

Our sweet Baby Girl TT is one of the children who left with her forever family. Her parents are well prepared to ride the emotional roller coaster we expect her to go and they are patient and are willing to do whatever it takes to help their wonderful daughter. The social workers have let us know that she’s adjusting well, and this warms our hearts. Back in our home, our aunties continue doing whatever it takes to make sure that Baby Gir TT’s friends adjust to life without her.

Baby Girl TM is also matched to her own family. She will soon be introduced to them by first seeing photographs and videos, then by video calls, and then she will meet them in person. She was so excited for Baby Girl TT because she knows she will also be leaving soon. Some of the girls’ friends though are not doing so well and really miss Baby Girl TT.

The home experienced some very hot days in November and Baby Boy B had great fun hanging out in tubs of water to cool down. All the children love water play but Baby Boy B makes us laugh. He is rarely expressive, however when splashed by his aunties, he shared his clear dislike of the infraction, yelling at them with a most expressive frown.

Our sincere thanks to our Talent Partners for partnering us in support of Door Of Hope. Together, we’re helping to bring a brighter future to those who once had none.

Until our next update, stay blessed and keep well.
