#GAPGivesBack – Door of Hope December 2023 Review
As the new year kicks off in earnest, the GAP Talent team reaffirms our committed to changing lives; fostering positive and significant change in the lives of our Talent Professionals (our Candidates) and within our communities. Through the #GAPGivesBack programme in partnership with our Talent Partners (our Clients), we’re proud to continue supporting the Door Of Hope Children’s Mission in Johannesburg, where we sponsor the care of once abandoned children through the “Adopt A Crib” initiative; providing a safe and nurturing environment and the possibility of brighter futures where there once were none.
Over the festive period, the children’s aunties and volunteers went all out to decorate the homes with festive cheer and planned many fun activities for the little ones; including taking photographs together to commemorate this special season.

Towards the end of last year we shared the wonderful news that Baby Girl TT had moved on to a new life with her forever family. Today we introduce a new baby in one of our adopted cribs, Baby Boy NV. He’s a sweet and content little chap who arrived at the home on 13 December. At just 3 months old, he’s delightful and loves being talked to, returning the conversation with wide eyes and happy smiles.
Baby Boy B is in the early stages of learning to recognise symbols and is slowly learning to use symbols to indicate Yes and No.
Baby Girl TM received a photo album from her forever family, visually introducing each member to her individually. She has been so excited, proudly showing the photos to the aunties and her friends. We anticipate her joining her family in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you to our Talent Partners for enabling these experiences. The photos taken will be added to each child’s file, so that one day, when they are matched with their forever families, they will have pictures of Christmases past with special friends; filled with love, joy and care. Together, we’re helping to make a real difference.
