#GAPGivesBack – Door of Hope October 2023 Review
Through our #GAPGivesBack programme, in partnership with our Talent Partners (our clients), GAP Talent is deeply committed to making a positive impact in communities in need. By supporting the Door Of Hope Children’s Mission and their “Adopt-A-Crib” initiative in Johannesburg, we’re helping to care for abandoned children; providing a nurturing environment that empowers them to believe in a brighter future.
“You have made it possible for us to care for almost one hundred children this year. We currently care for sixty-one babies of which thirteen children have complex special needs. Others were re-united with family or were adopted.” – Door Of Hope Management
Since our update last month, our children continue to enjoy many fun activities. One such activity in October was a dress-up party held in their honour at our Children’s Village. Baby Girls TM and TT were excited for the opportunity to play dress up in their ‘Heritage Day” dresses again.
The children were treated to a delicious picnic lunch meal and the girls and their friends squealed with excitement when delicious treats were presented. They tasted new sweets and biscuits and loved them all. The village is a larger property than the homes where the children live with so much space to run through and it was a fun day for all the children.
Baby Boy B is affectionately known as our little Mr. Grumpy because he rarely smiles and sadly his group of friends weren’t able to attend the party at the village due to a shortage of staff. However, as the Christmas season rapidly approaches, the baby homes are starting to receive many visitors who bless the children. This will be fun for many children, but our little Mr. Grumpy would be just fine if he didn’t receive any attention. Baby Boy B enjoys a predictable life with the people he knows and loves.
Thank you to our Talent Partners for partnering us in support of the Door Of Hope. Together we’re helping to facilitate love, care and development of these children. Together we’re bringing hope to those who once had none.
