Door of Hope Baby Check – In: February 2024

As we reflect on our community projects for the months of February and March, we’re filled with so much gratitude seeing the incredible work being done at Door of Hope Children’s Mission in Johannesburg, South Africa. Through our #GAPGivesBack initiative, in partnership with our Talent Partners (our Clients), we’re honoured to support the mission’s tireless efforts in providing love, care, and hope to abandoned and vulnerable children.

The past two months have been a time of celebration and joy for the children at Door of Hope. From Valentine’s Day festivities filled with music, dancing, and heartwarming activities, to the excitement of the Easter Egg Hunt at the Childrens’ Village, the little ones have experienced moments of pure happiness and belonging.

We’re particularly thrilled about the success of the Easter Egg Hunt, which not only brought together the Door of Hope family and the surrounding community, but also raised awareness, and much needed funds, for the special needs babies. Seeing the children thoroughly enjoy themselves, making new friends, and relishing in delicious treats, was a true testament to the power of inclusive celebration.

Baby Boy B and Baby Girl TM had the opportunity to participate in several exciting outings, including the Easter Egg Hunt and a trip to the Sensory Space. These experiences are crucial in enriching their lives and providing them with a wider range of stimuli, beyond their daily routines. We’re so appreciative of the dedicated Aunties (caregivers) who make these outings possible and ensure that each child’s unique needs are addressed.

Meanwhile, Baby Boy NV has been making strides in his development, engaging in sensory exploration activities and learning to roll over. His growth and curiosity are a delight, and we’re confident that with the nurturing care provided by the Door of Hope staff, he will continue to thrive.
